Els De Busser Joins Panel at Europol Conference "Freedom AND Security: Killing the Zero Sum Process"
On 22 November 2018, Els De Busser will join the panel "Data as the New Oil? Risks and Opportunity for Citizens and Law Enforcement" at the conference "Freedom AND Security: Killing the Zero Sum Process", organized by the Europol Data Protection Experts Network (EDEN) and the Academy of European Law (ERA), held at the Europol Headquarters in The Hague.
The panel will highlight risk and opportunities of data usage in the private as well as in the public sector and will set the scene for this law enforcement-centered conference. Other panelists include: Cornelia Riehle (chair), Course Director in Section III and Deputy Head of Section at the Academy of European Law, Ralf Bendrath, Senior Policy Adviser to Romeo Franz (MEP), and former policy adviser to Jan Philipp Albrecht (MEP), Jyn Schultze-Melling, Associated Partner at Ernst & Young Law in Berlin, prof.dr. Babak Akhgar, professor of Informatics and Director of CENTRIC at Sheffield Hallam University, and prof.dr.
